Holy Orders

The Holy Orders Comission focuses on individuals interested in the following:

Priesthood: Men, young or old, contemplating a vocation to the priesthood are asked to contact the Diocesan Vocations Office at the Catholic Center at 812-424-5536

Permanent Diaconate: The church has restored this ancient order for those men, single or married, who are at least 32 years of age to serve in a ministerial way. The Permanent Deacon program trains men to serve the church as an ordained minister to preach, teach, administer the sacraments, Baptism and Matrimony, and other ministries.

St Vincent DePaul Society: The Society provides assistance for those in need of guidance or temporary financial assistance for medicine, utilities, rent, food, clothing, and other necessities. The St Joseph Committee meets every Wednesday evening at 6:30 pm in the St. Joseph Parish Center.

Quilt Ministry: The quilt ministry provides an opportunity for the young and old to meet and to work together on quilts. Their role is to provide quilts for the fundraising committee. Quilters meet every Wednesday afternoon from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the St. Joseph Parish Center. They welcome anyone to their ministry, especially, those from other parishes and those who want to learn.
